Alan is a self-taught home cook perfecting his passion for food by stepping outside of his comfort zone and creating new dishes from different cuisines. He has completed his Culinary Certificate at George Brown in 2017, and has taken courses ranging from fish, Northern & Southern Italian, savory baking, BBQ, Indian, Thai to name a few.
Alan works in the financial core in downtown Toronto and knows how easy it is to default to getting fast food around the corner. As an alternative to fast food, he has decided to cook and pack a satisfying lunch daily.
Aside from working in the kitchen, his favorite cuisine is sushi and he enjoys staying active at the gym.
Location:Downtown, Toronto - Near Yonge and Lakeshore (Harborfront)**
The Experience: During this Kinza Dinner, Alan will be serving:***
Mussels in a white wine reduction - A traditional French dish, mussels mariniere, or moules mariniere. Mussels steamed in white wine, served in sauce of juices from the mussels, wine, butter, and shallots... To die for!
Beef Wellington with roasted beets. This tenderloin of beef in puffed pastry was the favorite dish of the late President Richard Nixon and was originally created to honor the Duke of Wellington (aka a national hero for defeating Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815!)
